Week of Informal Care 2023 | This week Surplus shares four stories of informal caregivers.
Caregivers Claudia, Pauline, Karin and Ingrid talk in a podcast about their situation, their emotions. About how they do it out of love, but that sometimes that love is also out of the question. A beautiful photo was taken of the caregivers for a poster and a booklet was made with photos and their stories. Listen to the story of Claudia. She cares for her husband Danny, who has parkinson's disease. Listen to her story at this link
Portraits in Theek5
The Uit.liefde portraits can be viewed at Library Theek 5 Oosterhout and Raamsdonksveer! Would you like to read about informal care? Drop by the libraries, where you will find themed tables with all kinds of books and brochures from Surplus Mantelzorg and Library Theek 5.
Activities
A number of meetings were also organized as part of Family Care Week: An Alzheimer's Cafe, Moya visit, dinner at Bregje, Mindfulness workshop and High Tea at Brownies & Downies. Experiences were exchanged and new contacts were made! Unfortunately, we even had to disappoint people because of the great interest in the dinners. We will take this into account next year!
