Partner of someone with incurable cancer? You are not alone! To support loved ones in this particular situation, there was a meeting for partners of someone with incurable cancer on Monday, Feb. 23. When your partner is diagnosed with incurable cancer, not only his or her life changes, but yours as well. Feelings of guilt, constant worry and an uncertain future can weigh heavily.
Talking to who really understands you
Within a family or group of friends it is sometimes difficult to express what you really feel. The support group offers a safe place where everything can be discussed and where there is room for both sorrow and humor, for chaos and insight. Fellow sufferers know what you are going through, understand each other and take time for each other's stories. It is from these mutual experiences that you learn the most. The group is guided by Helga and Hennie, both associated with Poppy's.
Practical information
Meetings are every last Monday of the month at Poppy's in Oosterhout. Would you like to participate? Through our website centerpoppys.co.uk/activities you can sign up directly for upcoming meetings. Prior to the first participation is a telephone introduction. During this call there is room to ask questions and together we will see if this fellow sufferers group suits your needs.
