The municipality of Oosterhout is proud of informal caregivers and their commitment to a family member, friend or neighbor. As thanks for this you can apply every year from October 1 to December 31 for an appreciation of informal care. The Mantelzorgwaardering consists of a Mantelzorgbon of €50 to spend at entrepreneurs in Oosterhout. Surplus arranges this appreciation.

You are 18+ and care or support unpaid for at least 3 months, 8 hours per week your partner, child, family member or friend. You are then an informal caregiver. For example, for your partner with cancer, a father with dementia, a friend with manic depression or a child with autism.
The person for whom you are a caregiver is called the care recipient. The care recipient lives independently or in a care institution in the municipality of Oosterhout (Den Hout, Dorst, Oosteind or Oosterhout).
The caregiver does not have to live in the municipality of Oosterhout.
No, if you receive payment for support then you cannot apply for a Mantelzorgwaardering.
As a caregiver, you do not have to live in the municipality of Oosterhout yourself. The place of residence of the caretaker is decisive here.
A total of four people may apply for Mantelzorgwaardering for one care recipient. One of the informal caregivers completes the form for the care recipient and all the informal caregivers. The vouchers for the different caregivers are picked up by one of the caregivers or sent to one address.
If the caregiver died after April 1, you may still apply for Mantelzorgwaardering for this year.
The Mantelzorgwaardering consists of a Mantelzorgbon of €50. The Mantelzorgbon is a gift card of the Fine of Oosterhout. You can redeem the Mantelzorgbon at local entrepreneurs in Oosterhout. For more information see: https://fijnoosterhout.nl/
The gift card works very simply. Just like an ATM card. The advantage is that the amount can be spent in parts.

You can use the gift card to enjoy local shopping and food & drink at all participating local business owners in Oosterhout. You can spend the gift card at many different stores and restaurants. So you choose from a wide range of fun gifts and outings.

You will receive the Mantelzorgbon between January and March 2026. You will be notified when you can pick up the voucher or receive it by mail.
The Mantelzorgwaardering must be reapplied for every year. Even if your situation has not changed.
Unfortunately, the municipality of Oosterhout has decided not to provide a voucher for youth under 18 this year. However, we would like to talk to you and you can join activities of the youth work. You can sign up via Insta @jongerenwerk.oosterhout for activities.

Via mantelzorg.oosterhout@surplus.nl or Surplus Mantelzorg 0162-748600 you can deregister as a caregiver. We do not receive messages of death from the municipality of Oosterhout, because of the AVG.
