OOSTERHOUT. Family caregivers play a vital role in the well-being of our society by providing unconditional care to their loved ones. To inform and support family caregivers, Surplus 2024 is starting new activities.
Workshop ‘Informal care from A to Z: from acceptance to self-care’
Next January 18, the workshop ‘Informal Care from A to Z: From Acceptance to Self-Care’ will start. During three meetings attention will be paid to taking care of your own balance. Experience also how nice it is to have a sounding board with other informal caretakers. So join in and get started with informal care questions about keeping balance, setting priorities and boundaries and finding the right support. Location is Library Theek 5, Torenstraat in Oosterhout.
Theme meeting work and family care
Working family caregivers combine the responsibilities of a job with caring for a family member or friend who needs extra support. This double burden brings special challenges. For family caregivers from Oosterhout who are looking for tools to combine work for an employer and family care, there is a free thematic meeting on work and family care. The meeting will take place on Friday, January 19, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. There will be a discussion on legal leave arrangements, the roadmap for substitute care, tips on talking to your employer and setting healthy boundaries. Location is Activity Center De Slotjes.
Dementia and (N)u: course for partners and children of people with dementia
The new informal care group Dementia and (N)u, designed for partners and children of people with dementia, starts on February 8. During eight meetings, a variety of topics will be discussed around dementia. Such as what is dementia? How does perception and therefore behavior change? How do you deal with restlessness, anger or passivity? Where can you find care and support? But also about how caregivers can take good care of themselves by setting limits and maintaining balance. The eight free meetings are on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon. Location is Activity Center De Slotjes
