The first week of June drew national attention to young people who are caregivers. The theme this year was 1TP5Unmissing. Because, what if you are unmissable both at home and at school ... Then you have to choose every day and you are not always visible to others. The MedeMogelijkMakers Campaign continued. This year, Tijl and Milan shared their personal story on Surplus' website and social media. We think it's very cool that they did this! You can also read their full story on the website. Looking back on the week:
Eat first! .... they say in Oosterhout. On June 3, a group of care parents had lunch at Brasserie de Schuur in Raamsdonksveer. A moment to exchange stories, get to know each other better and experience a sense of recognition. Then on home with new contacts. Care parents caring for a child of 18+ had lunch together in Floraliapark in Oosterhout. Nice that you were there! In September, Asmara (Informal Care Consultant) and Nathalie (Informal Care volunteer) are organizing an afternoon at the weekend for care parents 18- around “take care of yourself!”
In addition, Mantelzorg teamed up with youth work to publicize CoMogelijkMakers. For example, posters were hung in schools, young people played Mantelzorg X Jenga at recess, young people participated daily in the Insta quiz on our accounts and we will literally be visible on the streets next week. In addition, a pizza night was organized. Unfortunately, too few young people were signed up to start. Are you/do you know young caregivers who would like to participate in an activity? Please let us know. With enough applications we will start organizing again.
Finally, the insta accounts of Youth Workers and Mantel Care hosted a quiz and nine young people won an ice cream voucher. Enjoy it all!
